IIDA NE 2019 FASHION SHOW - PORTALS
Endicott College's Interior Design club participated in the 2019 IIDA NE fashion show where our completely original designs walked down the runway. The catch? Each piece had to be made completely out of materials found within the interior design world. We worked on these two pieces every week until we had a complete and intriguing design. The theme of the fashion show was portals and each team was given a new setting to dive into. We were given Alice in Wonderland. We decided to design two pieces that showed both sides of Alice in Wonderland: the natural and the consumerist side. We developed these pieces to be built using only wallcovering, carpet poms and plastic/paint samples. I was lucky enough to be one of the models that was able to walk our look down the runway. This experience allowed me to use common design materials in a new way and view fashion with a whole new perspective. I got to meet a lot of amazing people during the experience and had a lot of fun through it all.
